Classed as one of the 50 most beautiful towns of France, at 475m altitude and surrounded by 3km of ramparts, LANGRES offers a rich heritage and architecture. You will also find a beautiful cathedral, a museum and a history full of famous people born here.

The philosopher Denis Diderot, inventor of the encyclopaedia, was born here in 1713. The most famous person of the “Langrois” population is omnipresent in the town in the form of statues, street and place names.

During your visit why not try the many regional products including the famous Langres cheese and wine from Montsaugeon. Relax, go walking around the lakes, go cycling or even hire a pedalo.
