In the shadow of the Saint-Pierre church, in the heart of BAR SUR AUBE, the CELLIER AUX MOINES welcomes you to a place rich in history.
In 1114 the Count of Troyes gave a site to the Montier en Der Abbey to build a house there. This house erected on the rue Neuve, today called the rue du Général Vouillemont, includes a magnificent vaulted cellar in two naves with three vaulted bays.

In 1912 the cellar witnessed the revolt of the wine producers because of the desire to remove the appellation “Champagne”. It was here that they organised their rebellion, inscribing their revolt on the walls of the age-old vaults and you can read the names of all the Aubois villages.
